Certified material. Clear documentation.

AISI 12L14 is a leaded free-machining carbon steel valued for its excellent machinability, surface finish, and suitability for high-volume automatic machining operations. Its composition is designed to support efficient chip formation and reduce machining time when producing intricate or repetitive components.

The grade is commonly used for fittings, bushings, fasteners, connectors, threaded parts, and precision-turned components. It is particularly useful in applications where dimensional consistency and manufacturing productivity are important. However, its weldability, corrosion resistance, and suitability for certain regulated applications require careful evaluation. Its lead content may also impose restrictions depending on the application and applicable regulations. Typical Applications: CNC-turned parts, fittings, bushings, fasteners, connectors, and precision components.
